My wife has to resort to sports bras just to feel comfortable because of her girth and volume. The superstructure of larger bras are almost always of the wire type in order to buttress the ta tas but they dig in and hurt. I need some kind of hybrid garment that is robust enough to lift and flatter without causing sag and splatter. Thanks

Try figleaves.com, herroom.com and bravissimo.com. They have a great selection of plus size bras that actually look good! I’m not plus size myself but because of my small back size and large cup size (30DD) I buy brands like Fantasie and Panache which I’d also recommend to your wife – they make nice (even sexy!) bras that lift, support and hold in place. Your wife should get a proper fitting – underwire is uncomfortable if the sizing isn’t right. She can also try wireless bras (or nursing bras that don’t have wires – you wouldn’t believe how pretty nursing bras they make these days!). Wireless bras do the same as regular ones – lift and support – they just don’t have the wire that might be uncomfortable.

there is a store just for the plus size woman. It is called catherine’s. They have a website and they may have a store near where you live. I have shopped there before and not all of the bra’s they have for the bigger woman have wires. check into them, http://www.catherines.com
